We had a great day this last Saturday when we poured the 24 inch Matt Slab foundation. Because of the liquefaction properties of the soils, the engineers could not design a typical foundation. Liquefaction is a phenomenon in which the strength and stiffness of a soil is reduced by earthquake shaking. Cool Stats: 83 truck loads of concrete (830 yards) - roughly 170 yards an hour ..... and 350 hot dogs! I wanted to give a special shout out to Hakanson Construction and Team Finish. This is Hakanson's first project with Swinerton and they were AWESOME! We would highly recommend them. Well organized, well thought out plan, and they executed the pour flawlessly. A nice group of people to work with to top it off. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a success."
